World Gin Day: Cocktail Recipes

Host a smashing summer party! We've put together a selection of refreshing cocktail recipes to try this weekend and throughout the summer season.

Strawberry Smash Gin

How about Sipsmith's Strawberry Smash G&T? Strawberries are the British flavour of summer and perfect for all your street parties. Why not try this recipe below - it's a real crowd pleaser.

Like us, Sipsmith is a BCorp and their Strawberry Smash Gin is bursting with strawberries harvested from Hugh Lowe Farms in Kent - the exclusive growers for Wimbledon!

- 200ml Sipsmith Strawberry Smash Gin
- 350ml cold brew tea (either Earl Grey or English breakfast)
- 100ml lemon juice
- 3 heaped tablespoons of seedless strawberry jam we recommend TipTree Little Scarlet
- Thinly sliced strawberries, to garnish

To prep, pop your tea bags in cold water the night before, leaving them to macerate in the fridge (or for as long as possible).

First, add a dash of hot water to your jam and stir until it's a pouring consistency

Then add all of your ingredients to an ice-filled carafe and serve in your Emma Bridgewater Black Toast Tall Glass Tumblers with a few strawberries.

Gin Fizz

Looking for something refreshing with entertaining in the garden? This is an easy cocktail recipe to shake up in no time - plus you probably already have the ingredients at home.

- 50ml gin
- 25ml lemon juice
- 2 tsp sugar syrup
- Ice
- Sparkling water
- Lemon slice

Add your gin, sugar syrup and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker and carefully tip in the ice cubes.

Shake well! A good tip is to shake until the outside feels cold. Next, strain the mixture into a tall glass tumblers filled with ice and add sparkling water. Finish with a lemon slice.

Singapore Sling

How about a classic gin cocktail? This slightly sweet and sparkling fruity cocktail is a great choice for something special at the garden party this summer.

- 25ml Dry gin
- 25ml Cherry brandy
- 25ml Benedictine
- Handful of Ice
- Few drops Angostura bitters
- 50ml Pineapple juice
- 25ml Lime juice
- Sparkling water to top up
- Cocktail Cherry for garnish

Add the gin, Benedictine and cherry brandy into a jug, followed by the ice and Angostura bitters - then stir well.

Pour the mixture into a glass of your choice (we'd recommend a tall tumbler), followed by the pineapple juice and lime juice - don't forget to stir! Finish by topping up with sparkling water and a cocktail cherry.
