Craft Corner: Make your Hen Cut and Sew Tea Towel into a Tea Cosy

Here's how to make yourself a new tea cosy from our Dandelion Hen Cut & Sew Tea Towel.

You will need some spare fabric for lining and wadding.

Cut along the dotted lines. Use these cut out pieces as a template for the lining and wadding. Make sure you cut the wadding around 2cm smaller around the edges.

Outer fabric:

Pin the two pieces together, printed sides facing. Sew around the edge, leaving the bottom straight edges open, then turn right side out.

Lining:

Pin the two lining pieces together, right sides facing. Sew around the edge leaving the bottom straight edges open. Turn right side out.

Finish:

Insert the lining inside the outer fabric, making sure to line up the head and tail of the hen. Sandwich a piece of wadding on each side, between the outer fabric and lining. Hem the edges around the base of the tea cosy for a neat finish.
