This season we have created a beautiful spongeware design, Snowberry. Below we share the story behind the pattern and its creative development.
Discover Snowberry
When designing Snowberry our design team took inspiration from light festivals and frosty nights to make use of gold and silver light contrasting with darker sky blues. Welcoming and colourful, and glowing with light – Snowberry combines icy blues and golden light in the prettiest of wreaths. Perfect to pair with Gold Toast & Marmalade pieces for a dinner service full of golden charm.
To finalise our Snowberry pattern, our design team set about reading, sketching, creating sponges and testing colours. Our palettes are kept tight and considered mindfully - for purity of design and to ensure cohesion with previous collections. We found complimentary blues, purples, and golds and depicted white berry clusters and leaves tinged with morning frost.
After working up a pattern, we think about how to bring it to life across the different shapes planned into a collection, looking at how we differentiate applications, colours, and scale.
