Festive Fun: London at Christmas

Get together with friends and family, put on your warmest coat and boots and head to London for a magical and festive day. It really is the most wonderful time of the year to explore the city.

Here are just a few places to visit, inspired by our very own London at Christmas collection.

Christmas at Kew Gardens

Open until Sunday 9 January 2022

Plan a trip to Kew Gardens and enter a botanical world filled with seasonal cheer.

Gather family and friends and discover their sparkling tunnels of light, dancing waterside reflections, and journey your way through their iconic gardens on your way to the panoramic Palm House light display.

Ice Skate at Somerset House

Open until 16th January 2022

One of the capital’s favourite winter experiences, and featured in our London at Christmas pattern, skating at Somerset House is must in your December calendar! Whatever your ice-skating level, pop on a woolly jumper and hat, pick your skates and set off around the rink ready to make some fun memories.

Christmas Shop at Liberty London

Visit now at Liberty London, Great Marlborough Street

Step inside the magical word of Liberty London. Potter around, taking in the building’s history, before heading upstairs to their Christmas Shop on the lookout for curiosities and unique presents. The ‘chosen resort of the artistic shopper’ according to Oscar Wilde, Liberty’s curation of designers is inspiring, and you are sure to find a thoughtful gift for the favourite people in your life. Do take a look at their exclusive Emma Bridgewater Winter Poppies collection, too!

Christmas Carols at St Paul’s Cathedral

Open for visits through December

St Paul’s Cathedral hosts a series of un-ticketed carol concerts every year in the run up to Christmas. Visit for a night of organ-led carols curated by French composer Olivier Messiaen or join in with the traditional Christmas eve carol service. One of the most remarkable pieces of architecture in London, St Paul’s is a wonderful place to visit and, carolling or otherwise, find a moment for reflection amongst the hurly burly of the festive season.

Borealis at Guildhall Yard

Open to walk-ins from Saturday 11th to Wednesday 22nd December.

This immersive light installation by Dan Acher brings the Northern Lights to the London sky. Vibrant blues and neon greens cloak and intermingle within the space, mimicking the movement of the natural Aurora Borealis phenomenon. Experience this mesmerising show with festive food and drink in hand.
